Paty Geyer Dance Center is a dance school in Guadalajara that offers Contemporary Dance, Ballet, Baby Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Theater, Tap, Acro Jazz, Break Dance and Air Dance classes for all ages.

It was founded on October 1, 2007, in Zapopan, Jalisco.

FOUNDERS

Paty Geyer

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Artistic Director of Paty Geyer Dance Center, she began her career as a professional dancer at the age of 16 in the Jazz dance company, Carlota Portela in the show "Vacilò Danco".

In 1986 Paty traveled to New York where he studied in renowned dance schools such as the New York City Ballet school, Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, Steps and immediately worked in various Broadway productions and shows, such as "The Incredibles" and "Mascarade" in addition of receiving the highly respected award between Broadway dancers "Gipsy of the Year" in 1995.

In 1996 he traveled to Brazil where he taught at the Dalal Acchar Dance School. Paty participated in various TV Globo productions. In 1998 she traveled to Mexico and began her career as Director in the Department of Cultural Diffusion Dance at Tec de Monterrey, Guadalajara Campus, where she premiered Broadway productions such as Cats, Mamma Mía, Jesus Christ SuperStar, Hair Spray, Aida, La Beauty and the Beast, The Man of the Spot and Les Miserables. Each year he presents with his "Ensemble" students of the Universidad del Tec de Monterrey, Guadalajara campus, a great show with 50 dancers, music and live singers. Since 1998 Paty has released 20 "Ensemble" productions.

Paty was the choreographic director of the group of dancers from Tapatios that closed the Pan American Games in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She was also Choreographer of the Musical Work "Amor Pop" premiered at the Telmex auditorium in the city of Guadalajara.

In 2007, Paty Geyer Dance Center was founded, and offers a show with the students of the schools 2 times a year. Today, Paty Geyer Dance Center has 2 branches of dance schools and is associated with ISAE, Higher Institute of Performing Arts, with a Bachelor of Dance. Paty serves as Partner and Artistic Advisor of ISAE.

Iván Ariño

Born in Barcelona, Spain and General Director of PATY GEYER DANCE CENTER. He studied at the Theater Institute of Barcelona, and began his career as a professional dancer in 1983 at the age of 16. After 1 year of touring Spain in a musical comedy "Temptation" he returned to Barcelona where he danced Contemporary Dance in different Catalan companies.

In 1987 he changed his address to New York, where he studied at the renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance School, where he graduated and certified. In 1989-90-91 he was invited to the company of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theather, performing at the "City Center" Theather in the years 88,89,90 and 91. He was also awarded a scholarship in the also renowned dance studio "Steps" In New York.

In 1991 he married Paty Geyer. From 1992 to 1996, he worked on the Broadway show, "The Incredibles." From 1996 to 1998 he traveled to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, where he did various choreography works in renowned dance companies. In 1998 he arrived with his wife Paty Geyer in Mexico and together they founded in 2007 Paty Geyer Dance Center. Today, Iván directs the 2 branches of Paty Geyer Dance Center, in the municipalities of Zapopan and Tlajomulco de Zúñiga and is also the General Director of the Dance Company "PATY GEYER DANCE COMPANY".

In 2013 he became a partner and advisor of ISAE. Higher Institute of Performing Arts, where the Bachelor of Contemporary Dance is offered, endorsed by the SEP.
